About Us
Located at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, Love and Squalor is a student-run, student-centered literary magazine that focuses on platforming fringe and hybrid work. We accept any genre and any medium that works to subvert reader expectations. As a publication, we want to challenge the typical conventions of the literary world: What is lowercase “l” literature? What would it look like if we followed our messiest of impulses? We print zines of student work each semester, and also upload work to our website.
Started in 2017 as a literary magazine for “armchair artists,” we accept any genre and any medium.
