Sunset

Melting through cold isolation
Preserved within silky wood
Holds gentle breath in the collapse of a star
Aching through the relief of the other
Silently yelling with a caramelized tongue
Of citrus fruit and daffodils

Mint

Oh, how I wish
I could be a mint
Just so I could refreshen your day
And make you feel
that much more safe
To be taken
and put in your mouth
So I could help
and oh how I would just melt
by the taste of your tongue.
I would be there for a while
but sooner than later
I would slowly be drifting away
Finally ending.
sometimes with a quick crunch
And other-times just slowly
But Iā€™m glad
I could be part of your life
And help you out
even just for a moment
